Another custom Wolf That Only You Can See commission! (Based on my project, the Wolf That Only You Can See.) These commissions are taking me longer than I’d ideally like them to because I’m juggling a lot of comic deadlines at the moment, but they’re still the most fun I’ve ever had drawing for other people, and I love making them and am glad I will be able to continue making them into the foreseeable future.
Four punk-mers I drew for my art-in-the-mail subscribers on my Patreon!
Punks! Mers! One of them is an axolotl! I had a lot of fun drawing these.
I realize I always make big exciting announcements on twitter but never post cool news here- so here is some COOL NEWS.
My comic- the comic I’m doing for Beyond (my queer sci-fi/fantasy comic anthology)- is being drawn- not only is it being drawn it’s being inked- not only is it being inked it’s being inked by Brittney Sabo!
The comic is called “The Dragon Slayer’s Son.” It’s written and drawn by me, and the inks are being done by Britt. Sabo is phenomenally talented (her comic is allnightcomic.com and tumblr bsabo.tumblr.com ) and I adore her and I’m so, so excited for this chance to work with her.
This is a preview panel - but you can check out the fully inked first page (and loads more stuff) over on my Patreon - patreon.com/sfemonster
Talkin’ about Patreon- I have a Patreon!
For $1 a month you get early access to Eth’s Skin pages, plus you get to a behind-the-scenes look at every step I’m making on two comics: Eldritch Northsea, and The Wolf That Only You Can See. For $2 you get access to all my work-in-progress posts and new ideas- comics, stories, illustrations, etc. And for $5 you can subscribe to my monthly sketchbook- a digital PDF that’s full of drawings, doodles, designs, and commentary. The fifth issue (wow!) of my sketchbook just came out the other day, so now’s a great time to jump in on that if you’re interested.
Patreon has been a game-changer for me. I put pretty much all my finished comics etc. online for free, so Patreon is the absolute best way to support me if you like my work and the things I do.
Thank you so much for your support and allowing me to do the work I do. It means the world to me.
I made sticker sets for the premier of chapter 1 of my comic Eth’s Skin at TCAF back in May- I didn’t want to post the finished drawings on Tumblr at the time because Töby had not yet been introduced in the comic. However, now that he’s in there I can post these spoiler-free! Cute sticker-sized drawings of the main cast- NEAT!
Did you know you can read Eth’s Skin online and that it updates every Wednesday right here on Tumblr? It’s true! —> eths-skin.tumblr.com
Did you also know that if you enjoy any of the work I do you can support me on Patreon and get all sorts of behind-the-scenes/exclusive Patreon-only content- including early updates of Eth’s Skin? You can! —> patreon.com/sfemonster
I started a new batch of custom Wolfves, based off my project The Wolf That Only You Can See. The second collection has a special name and a special symbol only commissioners get to see and know about.
I’m working on more of these as we speak. I love creating these custom Wolfves.
I can’t believe I haven’t posted any of the concept work for my Beyond anthology comic.
The Beyond Anthology is, of course, the queer sci-fi/fantasy anthology I am organizing (more about it at BeyondAnthology.com). The comic I’m doing for it is called The Dragon Slayer’s Son, and is about a pair of dragon slayers- a transwoman named Eva Navya, and her son, an FtM boy named Brenn.
These are sketches taken from my Patreon sketchbook- which you, too, can subscribe to over at patreon.com/sfemonster
Yesterday on twitter I declared that it was SatMERday and suggested that everyone draw their mer persona and wouldn’t you know it a whole bunch of people did and it was the best.
My mer persona (mersona) is an octopus, but I wear a ringed seal skin because I know I am a selkie in my heart.
If you want to see the other (amazing) mers people drew, check out the official satMERday tumblr - satmerday.tumblr.com
