I’m doing a character trade with SushiandPie and this is the first my first crack at the character I’m making for her- he’s not finished yet, but he’s coming along.
Some of the word prompts I had to work with were piercings/tattoos, body horror, multi-limbs, smoker, supernatural, quasi-religious, and odd clothes. This guy contracted something Lovecraftian- a large gash in his chest that occasionally spawns huge masses of tentacles. He doesn’t know how to treat it or how/if/when it’s going to spread, but it’s been getting worse over the years (recently he discovered eyes opening on the palms on his hands, which he’s begun bandaging up because ew, eye-hands). He spends most of his time chain smoking and shutting himself up in creepy old libraries where he is constantly reading/researching various monsters and mythologies to try and figure out what’s wrong with him and how/if it can be dealt with- Nothing has turned up yet, but he did find a way to use some sketchy magic (the shadowy, multi-limbed ghost hands) that can keep the hole in his chest shut so that he’s not dragging masses of tentacles along with him wherever he goes. It’s progress, anyway.
This isn’t finished yet, but I like how it’s been coming along so I’m showing you, Tumblr. Because we’re friends.

HEY LOOK, IT’S EVERYTHING I LIKE
In case anyone forgot that Sfemonster is the best at monsters.
This is cool. I like the descriptor ‘contracted something Lovecraftian’.
